How It Happened

* The Nittany Lions scored the game's first goal on the team's first shot of the game in the 11th minute when freshman Hugh Nungessor, the United East Offensive Player of the Week from the Volt Division, connected on a header shot for his fifth goal of the season.  Nungessor, in perfect position, received the free kick from senior Mike Thomas who set up the score.

* Abington doubled its lead right before halftime when freshman Amerr Yagoub scored his first collegiate goal to give the Nittany Lions a 2-0 lead in the 44th minute.  Junior JT Stone took the throw-in from the far right and made a direct pass into the box to assist Yagoub with the goal.

* The Red Hawks spoiled the Nittany Lions shutout bid in the 62nd minute with their first and only goal of the game.  Enir Radoncic tallied his second goal of the season to make the score 2-1.

* Montclair put the pressure on the Nittany Lion defense in the second half totaling 11 of its 15 shots in the final 45 minutes.  Senior goalkeeper Matt Sheldon made four key stops in the second half on his way to a seven save performance on the day.

Inside the Numbers

* Nungessor has now scored four goals in the last three games with the Nittany Lions going 2-0-1 in those contests.

* Thomas, who now has a career-high seven assists on the season, has moved into a tie for second most career assists with 15.  He joins former standout Alex Martins who recorded 15 assists from 2011-2014.  Thomas also has five assists in his last four games.

* The Nittany Lions' defense held the nation's top scorer in Amer Lukovic without a goal for the first time this year.  Lukovic, who had four shots in the game, leads all three NCAA Divisions in goals with 17.

* Montclair outshot the Nittany Lions by a 15-6 margin and held the edge on corner kicks, 5-0.
