Abington Falls to Stockton in Non-Conference Tilt

Abington, Pa. – The Penn State Abington men's soccer team dropped a non-conference matchup to visiting Stockton University by the score of 4-0 on Monday afternoon at Memorial Field.

How It Happened
 
* Both teams played to a scoreless tie for the first 55 minutes of action before Stockton broke through with its first of four second half tallies.  Aiden Hoenisch gave the Osprey a 1-0 lead with an unassisted goal in the 56th minute. 
 
* Stockton doubled its lead in the 66th minute when Joseph Carbone connected on a shot from the middle of the box to make it a 2-0 game.  Just over a minute later Hoenisch scored his second goal of the game and sixth of the season to increase the lead to three.
 
* The Osprey tacked on one more goal in the 71st minute when Carbone scored his second of two goals to make the score 4-0. 
 
Inside the Numbers
 
*  Sophomore Brendan Werner made his first start in net for the Nittany Lions and totaled a season-high seven saves after facing 16 shots by the Osprey offense.
 
* Stockton's Kieran Sundermann finished the game with two assists.

Today's game was part of Abington's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee's (SAAC) Pink Out games for the fall season.  SAAC teamed up with Unite for HER to help raise funds to support those affected by breast and ovarian cancer.  During the game fans had the opportunity to purchase Unite4HER merchandise with all proceeds benefiting the organization.  Fans could still show their support and make an online donation to help SAAC reach its goal of $2,000 by clicking, here.  SAAC will also be selling Unite for HER merchandise at Tuesday night's women's volleyball match against Lancaster Bible College.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked just the second meeting between Abington and Stockton and the first since the 2013 season.  The Osprey have won both matchups in the all-time series.
 
Next Up
Abington returns to action on Tuesday as the Nittany Lions travel to face Penn College in a rescheduled matchup from this past Saturday that got postponed.  Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
