How It Happened

* Gallaudet pulled ahead of the Nittany Lions in the opening set after breaking a 6-6 tie with a 7-1 run that gave the Bison a 13-7 advantage.  Abington came within three points of the lead at 16-13 after back-to-back kills from freshman Jayla Hickey followed by an ace by sophomore Laine Kulpinski.  That would be as close as the Nittany Lions would get as the Bison followed with another 7-1 run to increase its lead to 23-14 before taking the set, 25-17.

* The second set featured multiple runs by both teams as Abington led majority the set after opening on a 4-0 run.  Late in the set the Nittany Lions used a 5-1 run capped off by two straight kills by sophomore Brianna Brozo that gave the home squad a 20-16 lead.  However, Galladuet responded and went on to score nine of the next 10 points in the set, including the final seven to take the score 25-21.

* Abington trailed 9-6 midway through the third set and made things interesting with a 7-0 run to grab its first lead of the set at 13-9. The Nittany Lions took advantage of four errors by the Bison during the surge and featured back-to-back kills by sophomore Alyssa Flickinger. Gallaudet responded in a big way scoring 11 unanswered points to regain the lead at 20-13.  After Abington scored two points, the Bison closed the set with a 5-0 run to seal the win at 25-15.
