How It Happened

* Both teams battled back-and-forth in the first half exchanging leads multiple times throughout the first 20 minutes of action.  Neither team held a lead larger than two possessions with the Nittany Lions controlling the game's largest lead twice.  The latter coming in the final possession of the first half when junior Kolby Miller drained a three-pointer as time expired to give the Nittany Lions a 34-29 advantage heading into halftime.

* The back-and-forth action continued into the second half with neither team holding a lead larger than two possessions.  It wasn't until late in the half that the home team expanded a four-point lead into a three-possession advantage.  Leading 67-63, the Monarchs' Jake Karnish knocked down a three to expand the lead to seven points.  On the team's next possession, Carmine Castiello connected on a deep shot to give the Monarchs a double-digit advantage at 73-63 with a minute to play in regulation.

* Abington came away with eight points, including three-pointers by senior Jake Schalki and fifth-year Alex Podolski, in the final :30 seconds but King's countered with 3-for-4 shooting from the free throw line to hold off any potential rally.

Inside the Numbers
