Abington Drops Conference Contest to Harrisburg

Abington, Pa. – The Penn State Abington men's basketball team dropped a United East Conference (UEC) contest to Penn State Harrisburg by the score of 74-58 on Wednesday night at the Abington Athletic Building.  Prior to the game, the Nittany Lions recognized its Senior Class, including Alex Podolski, Brian Randolph III, Jomiloju Odumosu, Isaac Kennon and Alex Salata III, in part of Senior Night Festivities.

How It Happened
 
* Abington trailed 15-7 early in the first half before mounting a 15-2 run to lead 22-17 by the midway point.  Salata III and Randolph each knocked down key three-pointers during the run.
 
* Harrisburg responded with a run of its own to regain the lead.  A 20-0 over a six-minute span gave Harrisburg a 37-22 lead with 4:38 to play until halftime before taking a 48-33 lead into the half.
 
* In the second half, Abington opened with an 8-0 run to cut the deficit down to single digits.  Junior Jake Schalki opened the run with a layup before back-to-back three-pointers by Salata and Podolski capped the run to make the score 48-41.
 
* Both teams would exchange three-pointers on the next two possessions as Abington once again cut the lead down to single digits.  However, Harrisburg would go on to increase its lead back to double-digits when Isaiah Eggleston hit a jumper to make the score 56-46 at the 15:37 mark.  From there, Harrisburg maintained a double-digit advantage the rest of the way.

* Salata led Abington with 20 points (6-11 FG) to go along with six rebounds and three assists.
 
* Podolski finished the night with 12 points, three rebounds and two assists.
 
* Randolph added 10 points and three rebounds. 
 
* Sophomore Lexuus Fasce totaled eight points.
 
* For Harrisburg, Chase Robinson finished with a game-high 24 points off the bench (8-14 FG), while Nate Curry added 15 points and nine rebounds.
 
All-Time Series
Tonight marked the 11th meeting between Abington and Harrisburg since the start of the 2011-12 season.  Abington is now 2-9 all-time versus Harrisburg.
 
Next Up
Abington returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 11 as the Nittany Lions travel to face Penn College in a United East match up.  Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
