How It Happened

* Abington took all three doubles competitions in convincing fashion to jump out to a 3-0 lead in the match. At first doubles, juniors Tinatin Sadzaglishvili and Elizabeth Turner shutout Bryn Athyn's Avo Fino and Amber Dawes, 8-0.  The duo of junior Elisa Steinhardt and Soniyah Youngblood did the same against Katherine Hyatt and Veronica Diaz at second doubles.  At third doubles, junior Kelsey Patterson and sophomore Isabella DePorre finished off Thea Keal and Keren Abraham by the score of 8-1.

* In singles action, Sadzaglishvili and Youngblood each recorded shutout victories in their respective matches.  Sadzaglishvili won her first singles match against Nicol Kaczorek, while Youngblood defeated Dawes at fourth singles.

* At second singles, Turner defeated Annae Connelly in straight sets, 6-2, 7-5.  Set two was tied 5-5 before Turner tallied back-to-back points for the match win.

* Steinhardt rallied at third singles after dropping the first set, 6-2, to Keal.  She bounced back with a 6-2 victory in set two to tie the set.  Steinhardt went up 4-1 in the tiebreak and scored two of the final three points to win, 10-6.

* DePorre knotched the point at fifth singles where she defeated Hartshaw in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.

* In sixth singles, Patterson was ahead 1-0 before the match was called due to opponent retirement.  Patterson was credited with the win and point.
