How It Happened

* Senior Zach Morales put Abington on the board in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run scoring hit that plated senior Sean Doherty.  The RBI single broke a scoreless game up to that point.

* Two innings late in the bottom of the sixth, senior Louis Rossner delivered a two-run single to make it a 3-0 game.  Later in the inning sophomore Eric Stradling drove in senior Josh Baar to increase the Abington lead to 4-0.

* Abington tacked on another run in the bottom of the seventh when Morales recorded his second RBI of the game with a sacrifice fly that scored senior Tim Petrucelli.

* In the top of the eighth, Aurora scored three runs with two outs in the inning to cut the Abington lead to 5-3.  The Spartans followed with five runs in the ninth with Nico Bermeo connecting on a three-run home run to make the score 8-5.

* In the bottom of the ninth Abington loaded the bases with one out.  Baar drew a bases loaded walk to make the score 8-6.  However, Aurora's Carlose Garcia struck out the next two batters to halt the Nittany Lions potential come-back bid.
