How It Happened

* Abington scored the game's first two runs in the bottom of the second inning.  Senior Megan Tomoney reached on a three-base error by the Wildcats' right fielder.  The next batter, senior Maddie Duffy, drove in Tomoney with a single to right-center.  Duffy would later score on a wild pitch to give Abington a 2-0 lead.

* The Nittany Lions took advantage of another Cazenovia miscue which extended the inning with two outs.  With the bases loaded freshman Jill Thomas reached on an error by the left fielder to advance each runner on base resulting in Tomoney to score.  Yanss followed with a two-run single to right field before freshman Jonalynn Hamilton drove her in with a double.

* With a six-run lead, Yanss had plenty support as she struck out a career-high nine batters in a complete game performance.  She allowed just six hits and two runs throughout the game; single runs in the fifth and sixth innings.
