How It Happened

* Lancaster Bible took advantage of three walks and a hit by pitch in the first inning to jump out to a 4-0 lead.  Evan Sareyka and Thade Hague each had run scoring hits in the inning.

* Abington cut the deficit in half in the top of the second when junior Tim Petrucelli came through with a two-run home run.  It marked his ninth of the season.

* The Chargers responded with a run in the bottom of the inning to increase their lead to 5-2, but the Nittany Lions added a run in the third.  Sophomore Eric Stradling connected on his first career home run to make it 5-3 game.

* Lancaster Bible increased its lead with a run in the fifth and two in the sixth.  Harrison Madagan hit a solo home run in the fifth, while Blake Greenly recorded a two-run homer in the sixth.  The Chargers went on to add another run in the seventh to increase their advantage to 9-3.

* Abington made things interesting in the top half of the eight.  The Nittany Lions took advantage of a fielding error resulting in back-to-back-to-back home runs with two outs in the inning.  Junior Justin Fogel fired off a two-run home for his seventh home run of the season followed by a solo shot by senior Zach Morales.  After a pitching change, Petrucelli greeted the new pitcher with his second home run of the game as the Nittany Lions cut the lead down to 9-7.

* In the bottom of the eight the Chargers responded with two home runs in the inning.  Greenly recorded his second two-run home run of the game, while James Toney hit a solo shot two batters later.

* Abington scored a run in the top of the ninth with Stradling driving in sophomore Steve Corrado with a single up the middle to cap the scoring.

Inside the Box Score

All-Time Series
