How It Happened

* TCNJ scored all three of its goals in the first half and within the first 20-plus minutes of the game.  The Lions' first goal came off the foot of Luke Pascarella in the 10th minute before Chris Meder doubled the Lions' lead with a goal in the 17th minute.  TCNJ increased its lead to 3-0 in the 21st minute when Daniel Grund tallied a score.

* In the second half the Nittany Lions wasted no time attempting their potential come-back bid as junior Eljo Agolli connected on his third goal of the season with a score in the 47th minute.  Junior Roan Vadakan assisted on the score.

* The score remained 3-1 until the 78th minute when sophomore Lex LeNoir scored his first collegiate goal to make it a one goal game at 3-2.  Freshman Hugh Nungessor was credited with an assist on the play.

* Despite cutting the deficit down to one, the Abington offense was unable to get a shot off for the final 12 minutes of the game as TCNJ held on to the 3-2 victory.

Inside the Numbers

* TCNJ fired off 12 shots in the first half, but the Abington defense clamped down in the second stanza and limited the Lions to just six shots with only two on-target.

* Senior Matt Sheldon made five saves in net for the Nittany Lions to increase his career total to 150.  Sheldon entered the season ranked second all-time in saves trailing only Daniel Carmack who totaled 206 saves from 2009 through 2011.

* Agolli's third goal of the season increased his career points total to 30.

At the conclusion of the Brick City Classic, three members of the men's soccer team were named to the All-Tournament team, including Agolli, Sheldon and junior Arsene Bado.
