How It Happened

* The Shoremen got on the board early when Ben Strine tapped in a rebounded ball that was initially saved by senior goalkeeper Matt Sheldon.  Washington College's Chris Comber attempted a header shot which was stopped by Sheldon but Strine was able to corral the rebounded ball and score for his first goal of the season in the 15th minute.

* Abington nearly tied the game in the final seconds of the first half when freshman Gavin Hagen got off a shot on-goal but was denied by the Shoremen's goalkeeper, Cole White.

* The Nittany Lions would go on to tie the game early in the second half when Nungessor connected on his first collegiate goal.  Senior Mike Thomas started the play with a corner kick attempt and was credited with the assist on the play in the 62nd minute.

* Both teams were unable to find the game of the net for the final 28 minutes of action as the game ended in a 1-1 tie.  Washington College outshot the Nittany Lions, 6-1, in that span but neither of the Shoremen shots were on-target.

Inside the Numbers
