Abington Drops Non-Conference Matchup to Immaculata

Abington, Pa. – Immaculata University's Kelsey Caldarelli scored three first-half goals in a 4-0 victory over the Penn State Abington women's soccer team in a non-conference contest on Wednesday afternoon at Memorial Field.

How it Happened
 
* Caldarelli scored the first of her three goals in the fifth minute of action to give the Mighty Macs a 1-0 lead.  Caldarelli would strike again in the 35th and 45th minutes of the opening half to complete the hat-trick.
 
* Immaculata held the 3-0 lead until the 84th minute when Rachel McNamee scored to make the score 4-0.
 
Inside the Numbers
 
* Abington freshman goalkeeper Abby Brunnell made a season-high 10 saves in net after facing 23 total shots by her opposition. 
 
* Senior Grace Burns, junior Madison McDowell and freshman Kaya Mobley all had shots for the Nittany Lions.
 
* Immaculata's Nicole Winouski recorded a pair of assists in the game.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the seventh meeting between Abington and Immaculata since the start of the 2013 season.  The Nittany Lions are now 4-3-0 versus the Mighty Macs in the all-time series.
 
Next Up
Abington returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 23 as the Nittany Lions resume United East action against visiting Lancaster Bible College.  Game time is set for 3:30 p.m. at Memorial Field.
