Abington Falls to Bryn Mawr in Non-Conference Action

Bryn Mawr, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's soccer team dropped a non-conference contest at Bryn Mawr College by the score of 4-0 on Tuesday afternoon at Abblebee Field.

How It Happened
 
* The Owls broke a scoreless tie in the 33rd minute when Ciara Grimes connected on her first goal of the season. 
 
* The score remained 1-0 through halftime but the home squad doubled their lead early in the second half after Daniela Dosen scored her second goal of the season.  Dosen's goal in the 48th minute made the score, 2-0.
 
* Bryn Mawr kept the pressure on the Nittany Lions with two more goals late in the second half.  Sophia Kearns scored in the 75th minute for her second goal of the season, while Ariel Shultz scored minutes later with her first strike. 
 
Inside the Numbers
  
* Junior Madison McDowell led the Nittany Lions with two shots, while senior Grace Burns and junior Crystal Suin each had a shot on-goal.

* Sophomore goalkeeper Rachel Wilfrid made seven saves in the first half for the Nittany Lions, while freshman Abby Brunnell made six stops in the second half. 
 
* For Bryn Mawr, goalkeeper Natalia Chorzepa made three saves to register the shutout. Grimes finished with three points with one goal and an assist.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the third meeting between Abington and Bryn Mawr and the first since the 2012 season.  The Nittany Lions are now 1-2-0 versus the Owls in the all-time series.
 
Next Up
Abington returns to action on Friday, Sept. 29 as the Nittany Lions travel to face Pratt Institute in a non-conference contest.  Game time is set for 8:30 p.m.
