How It Happened

* The Nittany Lions fell behind early in the first half when Neumann's Jake Kuzmick connected on his fourth goal of the season in just the fourth minute of action.

* A free kick opportunity in the 28th minute led to Abington's first score of the day.  Senior Mike Thomas took the kick and found Nungessor in the box who in turn headed the ball into the back of the net to tie the game at 1-1.

* The score remained tied until the 60th minute when a similar opportunity presented itself to the Nittany Lions, this time off a corner attempt kick.  Thomas once again took the kick and once again found Nungessor in the box for his second header score of the afternoon.

* Abington, playing ahead for the first time in the game, held Neumann to just one shot the final 30 minutes of game action.

Inside the Numbers

* Thomas, with his two assists, set a new career-high for assists in a season with six.  As a result, the two helpers increased his career total to 14 which ranks third all-time in program history. Thomas has four assists in his last three games.

* Nungessor recorded his first career multi-goal game and now has four goals on the season in which three have come within the last two games.

* Senior goalkeeper Matt Sheldon made on save in the first half for the Nittany Lions, while sophomore Brendan Werner made two stops in net in the second half.

* After being held to just one first half shot, the Nittany Lions ripped off eight in the second half.  Both teams finished with three corner kick attempts in the game.
