How It Happened

Abington hit two big three-pointers during the run by Podolski and redshirt sophomore Christian Niles.

* Abington took a 38-30 lead into the locker rooms at halftime after junior Na'Kai Carew scored a layup basket just as time expired in the half.

* Gallaudet opened the second half with a 12-3 run to come within one point of the Abington lead at 42-41 after a layup basket by Brandon Chung.  The Bison would eventually grab the lead at the 8:54 mark when a jumped by Alex Antsiferov made the score 50-49.  Both teams would exchange baskets on their next two possessions with Gallaudet holding a 53-51 advantage.

* The Bison pushed their lead to seven with just over five minutes to play in regulation.  A three-pointer by Blessed Mbogo gave Gallaudet a 58-51 edge.

* Abington cut the deficit down to one point on two separate occasions in the final three-plus minutes with the latter coming with 2:24 left on the clock.  Junior Myles Haynes connected on a three-pointer to make the score 62-61. The Nittany Lions tied the game on their next possession when Podolski split a pair of free throws.  After a defensive stop the Nittany Lions regained the lead on a Schalki layup with :49 seconds left to play. Abington converted 4-of-4 from the free throw line in the final seconds to hold off the Bison for the win.
