* Both teams went back-and-forth the entire first half with neither team holding a lead greater than two possessions.  With the game tied 34-34 in the final seconds, Abington took a 37-34 lead at the half thanks to a three-pointer by junior Na'Kai Carew as time expired.

* In the second half the Nittany Lions grabbed the game's first double-digit lead after going on a 13-6 run.  A three-pointer by Podolski gave Abington a 50-40 lead at the 15:15 mark.

* Abington led by as many as 17 points on two occasions in the second half with the latter coming at the 6:45 mark when Podolski scored a layup basket to make the score 69-52.

* The Nittany Lions maintained their double-digit lead until the final two minutes when Cairn cut the deficit down to nine points.  A three-pointer by Josh Forker made the score 74-65.

* Forker's three-pointer was one of four made threes by the Highlanders in the final two minutes.  Cairn came within three points (81-78) when Forker drained another deep range shot with four seconds to play.

* Free throws by the Nittany Lions in the final two minutes held off the Highlanders potential comeback.  Abington converted 9-of-12 from the line in that span, including 6-of-6 by Podolski in the final :16 seconds.
