Abington Defeats Berks to Remain Undefeated in the United East

Reading, Pa. - The Penn State Abington men's soccer team won their fifth straight to remain undefeated in the United East Conference (UEC) at 5-0-0 after defeating Penn State Berks, 4-2, on Saturday afternoon at the Hintz Athletic Fields.  Freshman Laurence Narcisi scored two goals to lead the Nittany Lions.

How It Happened
 
* The Abington offense scored four goals over a span of 10 minutes of game time to lead 4-0 in the 52nd minute.  Junior Jayden Barragan scored his first goal in an Abington uniform minutes before halftime to give the Nittany Lions a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
 
* The momentum carried over into the second half as Abington fired off three straight goals to open the half.  Narcisi scored the first of his two goals in the 48th minute with sophomore Hugh Nungessor assisting on the play. Let's than a minute later, senior Arsene Bado connected on a score off a pass from fellow senior Eljo Agolli to quickly increase the lead to 3-0.
 
* In the 52nd minute, Bado assisted Narcisi on his second goal of the game that increased the Abington lead to 4-0. 
 
* Berks spoiled the Abington shutout bid with a goal from Nathan Fatkin.  Berks scored another goal later in the half when Keegan Redcay found the back of the net in the 72nd minute.
 
Inside the Box Score
 
* The two goals by Narcisi marked his second multi-score game of the season and now has six goals on the year.
 
* Bado's second half goal marked his third of the season and 24th of his career.  He now ranks fifth all-time in goals scored.
 
* Agolli registered his fifth assist of the season on Bado's goal and tied the program record in the process.  He is now tied with former standout Jose Palomeque with 22 career assists.  His assist also increased his career points total to 76 which is one point shy of second place in the program's record book.

All-Time Series
Today marked the 13th meeting between Abington and Berks since the start of the 2011 season.  Abington is now 10-2-1 versus Berks in the all-time series as the Nittany Lions have won the last seven match ups.
 
Next Up
Abington returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 16 as the Nittany Lions host Lancaster Bible College in a United East contest.  Game time is set for 3:30 p.m. at Memorial Field.
