Abington Shuts Down Saint Elizabeth

Abington, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's volleyball team completed the season sweep against Saint Elizabeth University after defeating the Eagles, 3-0, in United East Conference (UEC) action on Saturday afternoon at the Abington Athletic Building.

* Sophomore Brynn Atkins finished the day with a career-high eight total blocks as she set a new single match record.  Her previous best was seven total blocks set earlier this year ironically enough at Saint Elizabeth. 
 
* Sophomore Zayna Jamaladdin and freshman Ellie Van Otten each finished with a match-high 11 kills to go along with two aces a piece.
 
* Freshman Fabiola Medina totaled a match-high 15 digs, while freshman McKinley Grimm totaled a match-high 21 assists to go along with 12 digs.
 
* For Saint Elizabeth, Marissa Heimbaugh led the team with seven kills and seven digs to go along with four aces, while Dadlyna Louis finished with five kills and three aces.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the 10th meeting between Abington and Saint Elizabeth since the start of the 2013 season.  The Nittany Lions are now 8-2 versus the Eagles in the all-time series.
 
Next Up
Abington returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 23 as the Nittany Lions host Penn State Berks in a United East contest.  Match time is set for 7 p.m.
