Abington Falls to Harrisburg in Regular Season Finale

Middletown, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's soccer team fell short at Penn State Harrisburg, 2-0, in the regular season finale on Saturday afternoon at the Harrisburg Turf Field.  The Nittany Lions will now shift gears to the postseason as Abington will host #12 Saint Elizabeth University in the United East Conference First Round on Tuesday, Oct. 29 at Memorial Field.  The Nittany Lions earned the fifth seed after finishing conference play with a 5-1-2 record.

How It Happened
 
* Senior goalkeeper Rachel Wilfrid kept Harrisburg off the board in the first half as she made nine stops after facing 11 shots by the Harrisburg offense.  Wilfrid went on to save 13 shots on the afternoon setting a new career-high.  
 
* Harrisburg broke the scoreless tie early in the second half when Diana Pon scored her seventh goal of the season in the 51st minute. 
 
* Harrisburg doubled its lead in the 67th minute after Serenity Hill connected on her sixth goal of the season to make the score 2-0.
 
* Abington finished the game with six total shots, including a pair of shots on-goal in both halves.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the eighth meeting between Abington and Harrisburg since the start of the 2011 season.  Abington is now 2-6-0 versus Harrisburg in the all-time series.
 
Next Up
Abington returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 29 as the Nittany Lions host Saint Elizabeth in the United East First Round.  More information on the game will be announced as it becomes available.
