Abington Drops Non-Conference Contest at DelVal

Doylestown, Pa. – The Penn State Abington men's basketball team dropped a non-conference contest at Delaware Valley University by the score of 96-64 on Wednesday night at James Work Gymnasium.

How It Happened
 
* Abington scored the game's first five points and opened with a 7-2 run.  The Nittany Lions followed with a 13-6 advantage after senior Myles Haynes scored a layup basket at the 14:15 mark.
 
* Delaware Valley answered with a 12-0 run over the next four-plus minutes to grab the lead for the first time in the game.  A layup score by Mike Herrin gave the Aggies a five-point lead with 9:53 to play in the half.
 
* The Aggies' lead increased to double-digits after a three-pointer by Antonio Redding made the score 30-20 at the 6:38 mark.  DelVal finished the half with a 46-29 advantage.
 
* In the second half, the Aggies maintained their double-digit lead throughout after outscoring the Nittany Lions, 50-35, in the half. 
 
Inside the Box Score
 
* Junior Hunter Blessing led the Nittany Lions with 20 points (7-12 FG).
 
* Senior Kobe Devine also scored in double-figures as he totaled 10 points off the bench. 
 
* Haynes finished the game with eight points and a team-high seven rebounds.
 
* For DelVal, Redding scored a game-high 23 points (9-13 FG), while Miles Demby added 14 points and eight rebounds off the bench.
 
All-Time Series
Tonight marked just the second meeting between Abington and Delaware Valley. The Aggies won the first-ever match-up between the two schools last season.
 
Next Up
Abington returns to action on Friday, Nov. 15 as the Nittany Lions travel to face Moravian University in a non-conference contest.  Game time is set for 8 p.m.
