How It Happened

* Abington led by as many as 17 points with less than five minutes remaining in regulation after sophomore Layla Reid split a pair of free throws to make the score 68-51.  From there, Neumann responded by scoring 11 straight points to cut the deficit down to six points.  The Knights' Lauren Klieber accounted for nine of the points, including a pair of three-pointers.  Klieber capped the run with a pair of free throws to make the score 68-62.

* Junior Nia Newman halted the Knights' run with a layup score with :40 seconds to play to increase the Abington lead to eight points at 70-62.  However, two possessions later, Klieber drained another three-pointer for the Knights to once again cut into the Abington lead.  Forced to foul with :15 seconds left, the Nittany Lions increased their lead again after junior Naila Newman converted both free throws.

* The Knights hit another three on their next position to make the score 72-68 with less than 10 seconds to play in regulation. Neumann quickly fouled and sent Hackney to the line where she split a pair of free throws to extend the Nittany Lions' lead to five (73-68).  The Knights managed one more free throw before the final horn went off to end the game.

* Freshman Hailey Revak knocked down a three-pointer at the end of the first quarter to break a 17-17 tie.  The Nittany Lions pushed their lead to double-digits (32-21) for the first time after a Hackney scored a layup basket midway through the second quarter. Abington went into the locker rooms at halftime with a 43-29 advantage as Revak knocked down another quarter-ending three-pointer.

* Abington extended its lead to 17 for the first time at the 4:25 mark of the third quarter.  Sophomore Amina Reid scored a layup basket after registering a steal on defense.  Her score gave the Nittany Lions a 52-35 advantage.
