Abington Falls to Harrisburg to Close Out 2024

Middletown, Pa. – The Penn State Abington men's basketball team dropped a United East Conference (UEC) contest at Penn State Harrisburg by the score of 93-52 on Saturday afternoon at the Capital Union Building.

How It Happened
 
* Harrisburg led from beginning to end after jumping out to a quick 6-1 lead.  The home Nittany Lions pushed their lead to double-digits at 19-9 at the 13:42 mark.
 
* Abington cut the deficit to as low as five after freshman Jahad Marable made a pair of free throws to make the score 21-16 at 11:30. However, Harrisburg followed with a 10-1 run to increase its lead to 31-17 after a three-pointer by Chris Henderson.  
 
* Abington came within single digits of the lead with just over five minutes to play in the half.  Senior Kobe Devine split a pair of free throws to make the score 31-22. Harrisburg responded and closed out the half with a 13-3 run to lead 44-25 entering the locker rooms at halftime.
 
* In the second half, Harrisburg outscored Abington, 49-27, and shot 56-percent from the field.  The Harrisburg defense held Abington to 26-percent shooting in the final half.
 
Inside the Box Score
 
* Redshirt junior Christian Niles scored a season-high 15 points off the bench to lead the Abington offense. 
 
* Senior Kolby Miller also scored in double-figures as he totaled 11 points.
 
* Freshman Gabe Swift totaled seven points; one shy of his season-high.
 
* For Harrisburg, Isaiah Eggleston finished with 15 points and eight rebounds, while Lance Douglas recorded a double-double with 11 points and a game-high 14 points.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the 15th meeting between Abington and Harrisburg since the start of the 2011-12 season.  Abington is now 3-12 versus Harrisburg in the all-time series.
 
Next Up
Abington will resume play after the New Year when the Nittany Lions host Penn College on Thursday, Jan. 2 in a United East contest.  Tip-off from the Abington Athletic Building is set for 5 p.m.
