How It Happened

* Abington led from beginning to end without relinquishing the lead to the Wildcats.  The Nittany Lions led 5-4 early in the first quarter and used an 11-0 run to push their lead to double-digits at 16-4.  A three-pointer by freshman Amirah Hackney at the 4:09 mark gave the home squad a 12-point advantage.

* A quick 6-0 run by the Wildcats cut the Nittany Lions' lead down to six points with less than two minutes to go in the opening quarter. Penn College managed to reduce the lead to 18-13 by the end of the frame.

* Abington regained its double-digit advantage midway through the second quarter after freshman Amina Reid converted a pair of free throws to make the score 24-13.  The Nittany Lions wrapped up the half with a 28-20 lead.

* In the third quarter the Abington offense increased its lead to 18 points after Hackney scored a layup basket at the 1:22 mark to make the score 50-32.  The Wildcats followed with back-to-back three-pointers by Lexi Troup and Rachel Teatson on their final two possessions of the quarter to decrease the lead to 50-38.

* In the fourth quarter the Nittany Lions dominated scoring 21 of the first 22 points of the quarter.  Abington didn't allow a single basket by the Wildcats until Lexi Troup drained a three-pointer at the 4:13 mark.  Before Troup's three, Abington held a 71-39 advantage.

Inside the Numbers

* Senior Angela Sanders recorded her 13th double-double of the season and the 37th of her career with a 19-point/11-rebound performance.  Sanders' 11 boards increased her career total to 739 tying the program's all-time record with former standout Jessica Schmidt (2011-15). She grabbed the record tying board at the 6:51 mark of the fourth quarter. Sanders' next rebound will break the Schmidt's nine-year record and establish a new standard in the record book.

* Hackney scored a game-high 26 points on 10-of-18 shooting from the field, including 4-of-8 from deep range.  It marked her fourth 20-plus point performance in her last five games.  She also grabbed seven rebounds and had three steals on defense.

* Junior Kaya Mobley shared the team lead with 11 rebounds while dishing out a game-high eight assists.  Mobley also totaled six steals on defense tying her season-high and finished with eight points.

* Reid finished with eight points, while freshman Kylie Frey added six points.

* For Penn College, Troup led with 12 points, while Teats finished with 11 points.  Both players also grabbed five rebounds.
