How It Happened

* Abington led nearly the entire game after trailing 22-19 with less than two minutes to play in the first quarter.  Freshman Kylie Frey knocked down back-to-back three-pointers on the next two Abington possessions to give the Nittany Lions a 25-22 lead with a minute to go in the quarter.  The Nittany Lions led 27-24 entering the second quarter.

* In the second quarter the Nittany Lions held a slight 35-34 lead midway through the quarter before junior Kaya Mobley knocked down a three to increase the lead to 38-34.  The three-pointer jumpstarted a 15-6 run over the next four minutes as the Nittany Lions increased their advantage to 53-42.

* Abington led by as many as 14 points at halftime with Mobley converting a three-point play to cap the scoring in the half.  Mobley's free throw gave the Nittany Lions a 56-42 lead heading into the locker rooms at halftime.

* Abington swelled its lead to 17 points on two occasions in the third quarter with the latter coming at the 2:51 mark.  Freshman Amina Reid scored a layup basket that made the score 73-56.

* Gallaudet used an 8-0 run to cut the deficit down to single digits, but a three-pointer by Frey and then a layup scored by Reid gave the Nittany Lions a 78-64 lead heading into the final frame.

* In the fourth quarter Abington scored the first three points of the quarter to increase its lead back to 17 points (81-64) thanks to a three-point play by senior Angela Sanders.  However, over an eight-minute span, the Bison rallied with a 19-4 run to tie the game at 85-85.  Crystal Salit knocked down a three-pointer to tie the game with 2:13 to play.

* Abington jumped ahead with less than a minute to play when Frey connected on a jump shot to make the score 87-85. After a defensive stop, freshman Amirah Hackney split a pair of free throws to push the lead to three points with :23 seconds remaining.

* Gallaudet cut the lead to one with a basket by Olivia Brown with :13 seconds showing on the scoreboard.  On the next Abington possession, the Bison fouled sending Mobley to the free throw line.  Mobley made both to increase the lead back to three points at 90-87.

* With six seconds left the Bison missed a pair of free throws that could have made it a one-point game.  The Nittany Lions capitalized on the two misses as Reid was instantly fouled on the inbounds play.  Reid split her two attempts as Abington held a 91-87 lead. The Bison managed a last second shot but it fell short as time expired.

Inside the Numbers

* At the 5:19 mark of the first quarter, Sanders made history as her defensive rebound was her 740th rebound of her career setting a new program record.  She entered the game tied with former standout Jessica Schmidt (2011-15) with 739 rebounds. She finished the game with 22 points and seven boards while blocking a shot and recording three steals on defense.

* Frey finished with 20 points setting a new season-high as she knocked down a season high six three-pointers.

* Mobley broke her own single game record as she dished out 15 assists to go along with 14 points; one shy of her season-high, to record her third double-double of the season.  Ironically, her previous record of 14 assists came against Gallaudet earlier in the season during a home game in January.

* Hackney added 17 points and five rebounds, while Reid totaled 16 points and five assists.

* For Gallaudet, Cassidy Perry finished with 29 points and 17 rebounds to register a double-double.  Rajena Guettler added 16 points and seven rebounds.
