Abington Jumps Start Spring at Albright

Reading, Pa. – The Penn State Abington men's tennis team opened its spring schedule with a non-conference contest at Albright College on Saturday afternoon.  The Lions came away with an 8-1 victory over the Nittany Lions.

How It Happened
 
* Senior Neil Guarino recorded the team's lone point in the match as he defeated Bryan Fox by the score of 8-6 at second singles.  All singles matches were played as supersets. 
 
* Freshman Lucca Frederico held tough at sixth singles but was edged out by the Lions' Gavin Buckley, 6-4. 
 
* At third doubles, sophomore Nick Talarico and freshman Josh Antill fell short against Dylan Huha and Kobe Serpa, 8-5.  Albright took all three doubles competitions. 
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the 11th meeting between Abington and Albright since the start of the 2011-12 season.  The Nittany Lions are now 5-6 versus the Lions in the all-time series.
 
Next Up
Abington returns to action on Saturday, March 16 as the Nittany Lions travel to face Moravian University in a non-conference contest.  Match time is set for 1 p.m.
