How It Happened vs. Albion

* Abington scored the game's first run in the top half of the second when junior Drew Liss ripped a base hit to right field scoring fellow junior Callie Chambers.  Chambers led the inning off with a single to right.

* The Britons responded in the bottom of the inning with a pair of runs that jump started a streak of five unanswered runs in the game.  Dylan Cardinale and Emma Schramm each had run scoring hits in the inning.

* Albion added another run in the third after Parker Douglass doubled down the left field line to score Courtney Ellis.  The run scoring double made the score, 3-0.

* The Britons added a couple of insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Inside the Box Score

All-Time Series
Today marked the first-ever meeting between Abington and Albion.

How It Happened vs King's

* It was a pitching duel from beginning to end as both pitchers went the distance.  King's broke the scoreless tie with unearned run in the bottom of the fifth inning. The Monarchs added another run in the bottom of the sixth when Colleen Shuler hit a triple to right scoring Madison Badali.

Inside the Box Score

* Yanss made history as she registered her 200th career strikeout as she finished the game with season-high seven K's.  She entered the game needing just two more strikeouts to reach the milestone number and did so in the bottom of the second inning when she struck out Jessica Perella.  Yanss, now with 205 career strikeouts, joins former standout and current assistant coach Becca Dougherty as the only two players in program history to strikeout 200 or more batters.  Dougherty struck out 307 batters in her career (2016-2019) at Abington.

* Freshman Victoria Butler and Yanss each had a hit in the game for the Nittany Lions.

* For King's, Maura Furst earned the win as she went the distance holding Abington to just two hits.

All-Time Series
Today marked just the second meeting between Abington and King's and the first since 2017.  The Monarchs edged the Nittany Lions, 4-3, that year here in Myrtle Beach.

Next Up
Abington is idle on Wednesday but will resume play on Thursday with another pair of non-conference games.  The Nittany Lions will face Bridgewater State University at 9 a.m. before taking on Cedar Crest College at 1 p.m.
