How It Happened

* Abington trailed 3-2 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning.  After the first two batters retired with flyouts to centerfield, junior Jake Fallers drew a two-out walk.  Fallers advanced to second on a failed pickoff attempt at first and then went on to steal third base a few pitches later.  However, a wild throw to third by the Chargers' catcher sailed into left field allowing Fallers to score the tying run.

* In the bottom of the eighth, McGee put the Nittany Lions ahead for the first time with a two-out solo home run that sailed over the right field fence.  It marked his first career home run in an Abington uniform.

* Freshman Logan Woodward (1-1) pitched a perfect ninth inning retiring the Chargers in order to seal the one-run victory.  Woodward faced only six batters in his two innings and struck out the side in the eighth.

* Fallers tied the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the third with a two-run single to left field.

Inside the Numbers

* Freshman Ethan Hahn went a strong seven innings setting a season-high in innings pitched.  He held the Chargers to just two earned runs while striking out six batters.

* Fallers finished the game 2-for-3 with a run and two RBI.  He also walked to reach base three times in the game.

* McGee also had multiple hits in the game as he finished 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI.

* For Lancaster Bible, Evan Sareyka went 2-for-4 with a run scoring base hit in the first inning and a run scoring double in the third which gave the Chargers a 2-0 lead.  Harrison Hobdy finished 3-for-3 with an RBI.
