How It Happened

* Swarthmore scored the game's first goal in the 25th minute when Kenney scored the first of his two goals on the night.  Nate Kim delivered a centering pass to Kenney for the assist.

* The score remained 1-0 through the rest of the half and into halftime.  The Nittany Lions quickly tied the game when play resumed for the final 45 minutes.  Four minutes into the second half, junior Tony Colon found the back of the net as the Nittany Lions took advantage of a free kick.  Sophomore Dylan Walker took the free kick and fellow sophomore Hugh Nungessor made a header pass with Colon finishing the play with a goal.  Both Walker and Nungessor were credited with assists.

* Minutes later the Nittany Lions had another scoring opportunity but a shot by Nungessor in the 52nd minute was stopped by Swarthmore's Christian Bignotti to keep the game tied at 1-1.

* Senior goalkeeper Brendan Werner made five key saves in net after the Nittany Lions tied the game.  However, Kenney was able to get another one by Werner in the 68th minute to give the Garnet a 2-1 lead.

Inside the Box Score

* Colon's score in the 49th minute marked the seventh goal of his career, while Walker's assist on the play was his first collegiate point.

* Werner finished the game with nine saves; one shy of his career-high set in 2021 against Moravian University.
