Abington Falls Short at Moravian, 2-1

Bethlehem, Pa. - The Penn State Abington men's soccer team dropped a non-conference contest at Moravian University by the score of 2-1 on Saturday afternoon at John Makuvek Field.

How It Happened
 
* Moravian scored two goals within :39 seconds of one another early on in the second half.  Cole Stevens tallied his first goal of the season in the 60th minute to give the Greyhounds the game's first lead at 1-0.  Thirty-nine seconds later, Ben Scary doubled Moravian's lead with his third goal on the year to make the score 2-0. 
 
* Abington spoiled the Greyhounds' shutout bid when freshman Laurence Narcisi connected on his first goal of his career in the 76th minute.  Narcisi's scored made it a 2-1 game with less than 15 minutes to play in the half.  Senior Eljo Agolli was credited with an assist on the scoring play.
 
* The Nittany Lions had a corner kick opportunity in the 82nd minute but was unable to capitalize on the chance.  Narcisi registered the team's final shot of the game in the 84th minute in attempt to tie the game but his shot was off-target.
 
Inside the Box Score
 
* Agolli's assist on Narcisi's first collegiate goal marked his 18th career helper moving him into a tie for second place on the program's all-time assist list with former teammate Mike Thomas.  In addition, Agolli now has 66 career points and is tied for fourth all-time with Jose Palomeque who produced 66 points (22G|22A) from 2017-2019.
 
* Agolli (5) and Narcisi (3) combined for eight of the team's 13 shots in the game.  Sophomore Hugh Nungessor also had multiple shots with two.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the fifth meeting between Abington and Moravian since the start of the 2021 season.  The Nittany Lions are now 0-4-1 versus the Greyhounds in the all-time series.
 
Next Up
Abington returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 25 as the Nittany Lions host York College (Pa.) in a non-conference contest.  Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.
