How It Happened

* Brandywine's Amari Little drained what first appeared to be a game-tying three-pointer as time expired in regulation, however after the official's huddled to discuss the play, they confirmed that Little's shot was a two-pointer as Abington held on to the 65-64 victory.

* Abington led the game from end to end and held a 16-point advantage at the 15:46 mark of the second half when senior Kolby Miller scored a layup basket to make the score 41-25.

* Over the next five-plus minutes Brandywine chipped away at the lead and came within single digits after a Little three-pointer made the score 49-40 with 10:26 to play in the half.  Two possessions later, Little converted a three-point play and after converting a free throw, the home team only trailed, 49-43.

* On the following Abington possession, senior Kobe Devine drained a clutch three pointer and after a defensive stop thanks to a steal by freshman Aiden Brown, the Nittany Lions increased their lead back to double-digits when Miller completed the play with a fastbreak score.

* Later in the half another Brandywine surge had the home team within one possession of tying the game. A tip-in basket by Jaden Fogg made the score 62-59 with 1:18 to play.  However, free throws down the stretch helped aide the Abington cause.  Devine converted a pair of free throws with :20 seconds left to increase the lead to 64-59.

* Devine's free throws came in handy as Little sank three free throws for Brandywine in the final seconds after being fouled attempting a three-point shot.  Redshirt-junior Christian Niles was instantly fouled on Abington's next possession and split his two attempts to give Abington a 65-62 lead with five seconds left on the clock.

* Down three, Little attempted a potential game-tying shot but as beforehand mentioned was ruled a two-pointer as time expired.

* Abington opened the game on an 11-2 run thanks to three-pointers by Niles, freshman Don Hairston and Devine within the first four Abington possessions. The Nittany Lions led by as many as 15 points in the first half on multiple occasions with the latter coming in the final two minutes.  A Hairston layup basket gave the Nittany Lions a 35-20 lead.  Brandywine closed out the final :32 seconds of the half on a 5-0 run to cut the lead to 35-25 at halftime.
