Abington Falls to Bison in United East Contest

Washington, D.C. – The Penn State Abington men's basketball team dropped a United East Conference (UEC) contest at Gallaudet University, 95-74, on Thursday night at the Gallaudet Field House.

How It Happened
 
* With the game tied 11-11 at the 14:34 mark of the first half, Gallaudet went on a quick 7-0 run to grab an 18-11 advantage.  Later in the half the Bison pushed their lead to double-figures after back-to-back layup baskets by Brandon Chung made the score 31-19 with eight minutes to play until halftime.
 
* Abington rallied and cut the deficit to six points thanks to a 13-7 run over the next four-plus minutes.  Freshman Gabe Swift, who scored a team-high 17 points, drained a three-pointer to make the score 38-32.
 
* The Bison responded and closed the first half out with a 13-1 run to take a 51-33 lead into the locker rooms at halftime.  
 
* In the second half the Bison maintained their double-digit advantage and swelled the lead to as many as 23 points.  A layup score by Jory Valencia gave the home squad a 68-45 lead at the 13:39 mark.
 
Inside the Box Score
 
* Swift came off the bench and scored a season-high 17 points to lead the Nittany Lions.  He drained 3-of-4 from beyond the arc.
 
* Freshman Aiden Brown, the United East Defensive Player of the Week, finished with 16 points off the bench after shooting 7-of-9 from the field.  He also grabbed six boards and had three steals and a block on the defensive side of the ball.
 
* Senior Kolby Miller also scored in double-figures as he finished with 11 points (4-7 FG) to go along with six rebounds.
 
* Redshirt-junior Christian Niles added 11 points.
 
* For Gallaudet, Chung recorded a double-double as he totaled a game-high 23 points and 10 rebounds.  Alex Ortman finished the night with 22 points and six rebounds.
 
All-Time Series
Tonight marked the 26th meeting between Abington and Gallaudet since the start of the 2011-12 season.  The Nittany Lions are now 13-13 versus the Bison in the all-time series.
 
Next Up
Abington returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 18 as the Nittany Lions host the University of Valley Forge in a United East contest.  Game time is set for 3 p.m.
