Abington, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's basketball team outscored Saint Elizabeth University, 55-24, in the second half on its way to a one-sided 85-55 victory in United East Conference (UEC) action on Saturday afternoon in front of an enthusiastic crowd of local elementary students in part of Penn State Abington's Elementary School Day at the Athletic Building. The Nittany Lions improve to 6-0 in conference play with the win.

How It Happened
* Abington trailed 31-30 at the half and used a 16-5 run over the first four minutes of the third quarter to record the game's first double-digit advantage. Junior
Nia Newman scored a fastbreak basket to give the Nittany Lions a 46-36 lead.
* Abington led by as many as 15 points (58-43) in the quarter after junior
Naila Newman scored a basket with :36 seconds remaining in the third. The Eagles' Jasmine Pierce answered with a basket of her own to make it a 58-45 game heading into the final frame.
* In the fourth quarter the Nittany Lions kept the pressure on the Eagles by maintaining their double-digit lead. Abington led 66-52 at the 6:31 mark and went on to score 19 straight points heading into the final seconds of the game to lead 85-82.
Naila Newman drained a three-pointer to cap the scoring for the Nittany Lions as she finished with a career-high 29 points.
* The Eagles' ended their offensive drought thanks to a Ty'la Holmes three-pointer on the team's final possession.
