How It Happened

* Abington led the entire first half and held a healthy nine-point lead on four separate occasions in the second quarter.  The Nittany Lions grabbed their first nine-point lead early in the second quarter after sophomore Amirah Hackney drained a three-pointer to make the score 23-14.

* A quick 4-0 rally by the Bison made it a five-point game at the seven-minute mark.  Rajena Guettler hit a jumper to cut the score to 23-18.  Abington regained its nine-point (29-20) advantage later in the quarter after Hackney converted a three-point score with a free throw with 4:26 left to play until halftime.

* The Bison closed out the half with a pair of free throws by Anya Pothorski as Abington led 32-25 heading into the locker rooms at halftime.

* Gallaudet opened the third quarter with seven straight points to tie the game at 32-32.  The Nittany Lions responded with five unanswered points to grab a 37-32 advantage after junior Esther Cole hit a jumper at the 3:05 mark.  However, the Bison bounced back and closed out the quarter on an 8-0 run to grab their first lead of the game.  Gallaudet entered the fourth quarter with a 40-37 advantage.

* In the fourth quarter, Gallaudet maintained its lead and even led by double-digits after a three-pointer by Sunita Schmid-Jorg made the score 54-44 midway through the quarter. The Bison led by as many as 11 points (56-45) at the 2:25 mark.

* Abington cut the deficit to five points (58-53) with less than two minutes to play when sophomore Amina Reid drained a three-pointer.  However, free throws down the stretch kept the Bison ahead as the team converted 8-of-8 from the line in the final two minutes.

Inside the Box Score

* Hackney led all scorers as she tied her career-high with a 28-point performance.  She previously scored 28 points, ironically enough, at Gallaudet during the team's regular season meeting with the Bison.  Hackney also totaled 10 points to register her third straight double-double.

* Junior Nia Newman finished the game with eight points and a game-high 12 rebounds.

* For Gallaudet, Cam Lexow led the team with 16 points to go along with nine rebounds, four blocks and two steals.  Guettler recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
