Abington, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's basketball team dropped a United East Conference (UEC) contest to Penn State Harrisburg by the score 84-65 on Saturday afternoon at the Abington Athletic Building.

How It Happened
* It was an uphill battle for the Nittany Lions majority of the game as Harrisburg mounted an early double-digit advantage before the midway point of the opening quarter. With the score tied 4-4, Harrisburg registered five straight three-pointers to build a 19-8 lead by the 4:37 mark. Harrisburg closed out the quarter with a 29-17 advantage.
* Harrisburg maintained a double-digit lead through the conclusion of the game, despite Abington making a run late in the fourth quarter. The Nittany Lions cut the deficit down to 10 points (75-65) with just over a minute to play after a three-pointer by freshman
Hailey Revak. However, free throws on the next two Harrisburg possessions increased the lead to 14 points. Harrisburg closed out the final minute of play with a 9-0 run.

Nia Newman recorded her third straight double-double and eight of the season after leading the team with 16 points and a game-high 15 rebounds.

* For Harrisburg, Jordan Carpenter recorded a double-double as she finished with a game-high 31 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field, including a near-perfect day at the free throw line connecting on 17-of-18. Carpenter also had 10 rebounds. Mikayla Coleman added 17 points.
