Abington Falls to Wildcats on the Road

Williamsport, Pa. – The Penn State Abington men's basketball team dropped a United East Conference (UEC) contest at Penn College by the score of 87-66 on Tuesday night at Bardo Gym.

How It Happened
 
* Penn College jumped out to a 7-1 lead to start the game and eventually grabbed a double-double lead at the 13:54 mark after Donnie Bass Briscoe split a pair of free throws to make the score 15-5. 
 
* The Wildcats led by as many as 16 points in the half midway through when Julien Leveille scored a basket to make the score 26-10.  Penn College finished the half with a 38-26 advantage heading into the locker rooms at halftime.
 
* In the second half the Nittany Lions cut the Wildcats' lead to single digits after starting the half on a mini 5-1 run.  A tip-in score by freshman Jahad Marable made the score 39-31.
 
* The Wildcats responded with a mini run of their own capped off by a three-pointer by Gavin Barrett to increase the lead to 14 points at 45-31 at the 16:58 mark.
 
* Penn College maintained its double-digit lead and held a 21-point advantage with 11:11 to play.  A basket by Livingston Cross gave the Wildcats a 60-39 lead.  
 
Inside the Box Score
 
* Marable led the Nittany Lions with a team-high 18 points; one shy of his season-high.  He shot 6-of-12 from the field and 6-of-7 from the free throw line.  Marable also led the team with 12 rebounds to register his second double-double of the season.  His 12 boards tied his season-high.  In addition, Marable had a career night defensively with three blocks and four steals.
 
* Senior Kolby Miller also scored in double-figures as he tied his season-high with 11 points.  Miller added two steals and a block on defense.
 
* Freshman Anthony Pineda came off the bench and scored a season-high 16 points (6-12 FG).  Pineda drained 3-of-6 shots from beyond the arc.
 
* Freshman Aiden Brown added eight points, five rebounds and three steals.
 
* For Penn College, Cross recorded a double-double with a game-high 29 points and 13 rebounds.  Barrett also scored in double-figures for the Wildcats as he finished with 19 points to go along with five boards and six assists.
 
All-Time Series
Tonight marked the 18th meeting between Abington and Penn College since the start of the 2014-15 season.  The Nittany Lions are now 12-6 versus the Wildcats in the all-time series.
 
Next Up
Abington returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 1 as the Nittany Lions travel to face Cairn University in a United East contest. Tip-off is set for 3:30 p.m.
