How It Happened

* The game stayed close early on with neither team holding a lead larger than one possession until five minutes in when the Highlanders grabbed a four-point lead after a Jaylon Simpson layup.  Simpson's score made it a 13-9 game before a three-pointer by Isaiah Coleman increased the lead to seven points at the 13:47 mark.

* Abington cut the lead to two (18-16) after a quick 7-2 surge capped off by a jumper from freshman Don Hairston with just over 10 minutes to play in the half.  From there, the Highlanders responded with a 21-6 run to take a 17-point lead with five minutes left in the half.  Corey Baldwin made the score 39-22 after grabbing a defensive board and then scoring a fastbreak basket.

* Cairn finished the half with a 51-28 advantage thanks to a 12-6 run to close out the half.

* The Highlanders shot 66-percent from the field in the first half (20-30 FG) and followed that up with 52 points on nearly 50-percent shooting in the second half.

Inside the Box Score

* Freshman Don Hairston scored a season-high 12 points to go along with three assists and two rebounds.  Hairston also had a block on defense.

* Redshirt junior Christian Niles also finished the game with 12 points as he dished out a team-high four assists.
