Abington Falls to LBC in United East Action

Lancaster, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's soccer team dropped a United East Conference (UEC) contest at Lancaster Bible College by the score of 5-2 on Wednesday night at Willis & Martha Herr Stadium.

How It Happened
 
* Lancaster Bible scored the game's first goal less than two minutes before halftime. The Chargers' Janae Bergey scored the first of her two goals in the game in the 44th minute to break the scoreless tie.
 
* Lancaster Bible carried the momentum into the second half scoring its second goal of the game minutes into the start of the half.  Zoe Beers doubled the lead at 2-0 with a goal in the 49th minute.
 
* Abington cut the lead in half in the 59th minute when sophomore Meghan McMeel connected on her second goal of the season with fellow sophomore Meghan McGinly assisting on the play.  McMeel's second goal in as many games made the score 2-1.
 
* Less than two minutes later, the Chargers answered when Bergey scored her second goal of the game in the 61st minute.  Lancaster Bible found the back of the net again in the 68th minute to make it a 4-1 game.
 
* Abington quickly answered and cut the lead in half again.  Senior Amanda Armstrong scored her first goal of the season in the 69th minute.  Junior Nayeska Ravelo was credited with the assist.
 
* The Chargers tacked on an insurance goal in the 74th minute to cap the scoring.  Leah Iman scored her first goal of the season to make the score 5-2.

* Junior goalkeeper Kayla Kulp made a career-high 12 saves in net for the Nittany Lions.
 
All-Time Series
Tonight marked the 15th meeting between Abington and Lancaster Bible since the start of the 2011 season.  The Nittany Lions are now 4-9-2 versus the Chargers in the all-time series.

Abington returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 18 as the Nittany Lions host Penn State Berks in United East action.  Game time is set for 2:30 p.m. at Memorial Field.
