How It Happened

* Junior Sevara Tursunboeva earned the team's lone point in the match after defeating Neumann's Kayleigh DelleVecchi at third singles.  Tursunboeva cruised to a 6-1 victory in the first set but dropped the second set by the score of 6-4.  In the third set tie-break, Tursunboeva trailed 7-4 but rallied to win the next six points to take the set, 10-7.

* Tursunboeva also picked up a win at second doubles as she teamed up with freshman Alyssa Thompson.  The duo defeated DelleVecchi and Juliet Schilling by the score of 6-2.  The win marked the first collegiate victory for Thompson.

* At fifth singles, sophomore Mia Hammoudi went three sets against Lyndsie Crawford.  Hammoudi dropped the first set, 6-2, but turned things around and took the second set, 6-4, to force a third and decisive set.  However, Crawford came through with the victory in the final set to take the match.

* Neumann won at first doubles and won by forfeit at third doubles to earn the team point. The Knights also won five of the six singles competitions.
