Abington Wraps Up Fall with Win at Brandywine

Media, Pa. – The Penn State Abington men's tennis team concluded the fall portion of the 2025-26 season with a 6-1 triumph at Penn State Brandywine in a non-conference match on Tuesday afternoon at Ethel Sergeant Clark Smith Courts.

How It Happened
 
* Abington took all three doubles competitions to earn the team point for doubles play.  The team of Daniel Trott and Mark Tymchenko picked up a 6-2 win at first doubles against Mateo Torres and Elias Danesh.  At second doubles, Kaan Ofluoglu and Charlie Batman came away with a 6-3 victory against Jonathan Parsons and Aaron Wilson.  The Nittany Lions won at third doubles by forfeit.
 
* In singles play, Trott cruised to a straight sets victory at first singles against Torres with scores of 6-1, 6-3.
 
* Vlad Borodaykevych also won his second singles match with ease as he defeated Danesh in straight sets, 6-2, 6-0.
 
* At third singles, Tymchenko rallied to win his third singles match against Parsons.  After dropping the first set, Tymchenko bounced back to win the second set by the score of 6-2.  In the third set tie-break, Tymchenko cruised to a 10-2 victory to take the match.  He trailed 2-0 in the tie-break before winning 10 straight points.
 
* Abington also received points and fifth and sixth singles by forfeit. 
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the sixth meeting between Abington and Brandywine since the start of the 2018-19 season. Abington is now 4-2 versus Brandywine in the all-time series.
 
Next Up
Abington will resume play this spring beginning in March.
