Abington Drops Spring Opener at Albright

Reading, Pa. – The Penn State Abington men's tennis team opened the spring portion of its schedule against Albright College in a non-conference match on Saturday at the Albright Tennis Courts.  The Lions defeated the Nittany Lions, 7-0.

How It Happened
 
* In doubles play, senior Mark Tymchenko and freshman Daniel Trott were edged by Matias Contreras and Renato Orsi by the score of 6-4 at first flight.  Albright went on to win second doubles (6-0) and third doubles (6-1) to receive the team point.
 
* Albright cruised through singles play winning all six matches in straight sets.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the 13th meeting between Abington and Albright since the start of the 2011-12 season.  The Nittany Lions are now 6-7 versus the Lions in the all-time series.
 
Next Up
Abington returns to action on Tuesday, March 10 as the Nittany Lions travel to face McDaniel College in a non-conference contest.  Match time is set for 3 p.m.
