Abington Dominates Gallaudet, 12-0

Washington, D.C.– The Penn State Abington men's soccer team scored a season-high 12 goals as the Nittany Lions defeated Gallaudet University, 12-0, in United East Conference (UEC) action on Tuesday evening at Hotchkiss Field.

How It Happened
 
* Abington had nine different players score goals, including three with multiple scores in the game.  Junior Laurence Narcisi scored the game's first two goals with his first coming in the fifth minute of action.  Narcisi struck again in the 27th minute to give Abington a 2-0 lead.
 
* The Nittany Lions, who fired off 26 first half shots, tacked on two more goals before the half was up to lead 4-0 heading into the second half.  Sophomore Frankie Rafferty scored his first goal in the 30th minute before freshman Liame Attis scored the first of his two goals on the night in the 40th minute.
 
* In the second half, Abington scored eight goals as Attis found the back of the net for the second time in the game in the 52nd minute.  The Nittany Lions scored seven more times in the half to finish with 12 goals for the game.  Sophomore Mohamed Konneh also scored a pair of goals with scores in the 72nd and 79th minutes.
 
Inside the Box Score
 
* Sophomore Temur Temirov recorded a career-high five points in the game after scoring one goal and a career-high three assists.  Temirov's three assists tied the program's single game record becoming the fifth player to register three helpers in a game.
 
* Freshman Enrico Sellecchia had a pair of assists marking the first two of his career.
 
* Freshman Joe Mahon made his first career appearance and finished the game with a goal and an assist for three points.
 
* Sophomore Ahmed El Sherif was also making his first career appearance and came away with his first collegiate goal.
 
* Junior Hugh Nungessor scored the team's final goal of the game in the final seconds marking his team-leading fourth score of the season.
 
* Freshman goalkeeper Keegan Courduff faced just two shots in the game; both off-target, as he recorded his collegiate victory and shutout.
 
GOOOOOOOOALLLL!
Abington's 12 goals marked the third most scored in the program's Division III era.  The Nittany Lions previously scored 13 goals against the University of Valley Forge in 2013 and 14 goals versus Gallaudet in 2023. In addition, the 11 assists in the game are second most in the record book; one shy of the record of 12 set in 2023 against Gallaudet.
 
Shots! Shots! Shots!
Abington fired off 47 shots in the game shattering the program's previous record of 38 shots versus Saint Elizabeth University in 2018.
 
All-Time Series
Tonight marked the 11th meeting between Abington and Gallaudet since the start of the 2011 season.  The Nittany Lions are now 11-0-0 versus the Bison in the all-time series.
 
Next Up
Abington returns to action on Thursday, Oct. 9 as the Nittany Lions host Penn College in a United East contest.  Game time is set for 3 p.m. at Memorial Field.
