Abington Drops Conference Match at St. Mary’s

St. Mary's City, Md. – The Penn State Abington women's volleyball team dropped a United East Conference (UEC) contest on the road against St. Mary's College (Md.) by the score of 3-0 on Wednesday night at the Michael P. O'Brien Athletics & Recreation Center Arena.

How It Happened
 
* The Seahawks' offense produced 53 kills on 116 total attacks to go along with a .302 team attack percentage for the match.  St. Mary's had 16 kills in the first set and followed with 18 in the second and a match-high 19 kills in the third set. 
 
* St. Mary's led majority of the match with the exception of the opening two points in the first set and opening point in the third set.  The Seahawks' defense held Abington to just 19 kills in the match despite the Nittany Lions only recording 10 attack errors; one shy of the team's season-low in a match this year.

* Junior Zayna Jamaladdin led the team with seven kills to go along with four digs.
 
* Sophomore Fabiola Medina recorded a team-high eight digs, while junior Kayla Mason had seven digs.
 
* Sophomore Ellie Van Otten totaled six kills.
 
* Junior Ryenn Mamrosch led the team with 17 assists.
 
* For St. Mary's, Erianna Mendieta recorded a match-high 15 kills to go along with 14 digs, while Maya Mauro added 13 kills and seven digs.

Tonight marked the fifth meeting between Abington and St. Mary's since the start of the 2021 season.  The Nittany Lions are now 0-5 versus the Seahawks in the all-time series.
