How It Happened

* Trailing 22-19 at the half, the Nittany Lions opened the third quarter with a 12-0 run to grab a 31-22 lead three minutes into the new quarter.  Sophomore Xenia Gillis drained a three-pointer on the team's first possession, while junior Amina Reid capped the run with a three of her own to give Abington the nine point advantage.

* The Abington lead hit double-digits later in the quarter after senior Naila Newman scored a layup basket with just over three minutes to play.  Newman's score increased the lead to 39-29.

* The Nittany Lions expanded the lead to as many as 15 points late in the fourth quarter.  A basket by junior Amirah Hackney made it a 49-34 game with 3:36 to play in regulation.

*  Salisbury made things interesting down the stretch scoring nine unanswered points.  Despite the rally, time was not on the Seagulls side as the Nittany Lions lead was too much to overcome.  Abington held on to the two-possession victory with Salisbury scoring in the final second on a pair of free throws.
