How It Happened

* A 16-0 run in the final five-plus minutes of the second quarter turned out to be the difference in the game as the Nittany Lions cruised to the double-digit victory.  Trailing 24-23 at the 5:41 mark of the second quarter, Abington regained the lead when junior Naila Newman knocked down a three-pointer to give the Nittany Lions a 26-24 advantage.  The three-pointer by Newman propelled Abington to score 16 unanswered points before taking a 15-point (39-24) lead heading into the half.

* Abington shot 6-of-8 from the field, including 2-of-3 from deep range during its 16-0 surge.  Senior Tori Tolson capped the run with a layup basket in the final minute.

* Abington never saw its lead dip below 13 points the rest of the way.  In fact, after the Gators scored the first basket of the third quarter, the Nittany Lions went on a 10-0 run to increase their lead to 23 points (49-26) at the 5:48 mark. Abington's biggest lead of the game of 27 points (59-32) came late in the quarter after a three-pointer by freshman Hailey Revak.
