Abington Takes Care of Wilson on the Road

Chambersburg, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's basketball team had five players score in double-figures and each player that saw the court scored as the Nittany Lions cruised to a 97-74 victory at Wilson College in United East Conference (UEC) action on Wednesday night at the Gannett Field House.

How It Happened
 
* Abington set the tone right off the tip as sophomore Kylie Frey drained a three-pointer on the team's opening possession.  The Nittany Lions did trail momentarily, 4-3, before a 10-0 run gave Abington a 13-4 advantage at the 5:35 mark.
 
* Wilson cut the deficit down to four at 15-11 before back-to-back three-pointers from sophomore Amina Reid and Frey gave the Nittany Lions their first double-digit lead of the game.  Frey's second three of the quarter made the score 21-11 at the 3:35 mark. Abington finished the quarter with a 28-16 lead after junior Nia Newman capped the scoring with a three-pointer.
 
* Abington dominated the second quarter and outscored the Phoenix, 30-13, while shooting nearly 50-percent from the field.  Freshman Hailey Revak gave the Nittany Lions their biggest lead of the first half at 55-24 after knocking down a three-pointer with 1:22 to play until halftime.  Abington finished the half with a 58-29 lead as Revak connected on another deep range shot to close out the half.
 
* Abington's lead swelled to as many as 38 points in the third quarter.  A three-pointer by Revak made the score 69-31 at the 5:38 mark.  The Nittany Lions hit the 38-point advantage two other times later in the quarter.
 
Inside the Box Score
 
* Junior Tori Tolson highlighted the night as she registered her second straight double-double and the third of the season.  Tolson finished with a season-high 16 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Nittany Lions.  She shot 5-of-11 from the field and was a perfect 6-of-6 from the free throw line. 
 
* Reid scored a team-high 19 points and dished out a game-high seven assists.  She also had four rebounds and three steals on defense.
 
* Sophomore Amirah Hackney netted 15 points and finished with six rebounds.  Hackney also blocked a game-high three shots and had a steal.
 
* Junior Naila Newman also scored in double-figures as she recorded 14 points to go along with seven rebounds and a game-high seven assists.  Newman also totaled three steals.
 
* Revak added 11 points as she knocked down three three-pointers in the game.
 
* Frey and junior Nia Newman each finished with eight points.
 
* For Wilson, Leah Laubach scored a game-high 23 points off the bench, while Chloe Irving recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
 
All-Time Series
Tonight marked the 15th meeting between Abington and Wilson since the start of the 2011-12 season.  The Nittany Lions are now 13-2 versus the Phoenix in the all-time series.
 
Next Up
Abington returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 8 as the Nittany Lions travel to face Saint Elizabeth University in a United East contest.  Tip-off is set for 1 p.m.
