* In the bottom of the fourth, Abington answered with two runs of its own to tie the game at 3-3. With two outs in the inning, junior Emily Foxhill and sophomore Marlena Hacker connected on back-to-back run scoring hits to tie the game.

* The score remained tied until the bottom of the sixth when the Nittany Lions took advantage of a Mariners' fielding blunder.  With two outs in the inning, sophomore Isabella Antosiewicz reached on a fielding error at second base and in the process, freshman Jess Dinardo, who pinch ran for senior Callie Chambers, came around to score from second to give Abington a 4-3 lead.

* Senior Gretchen Yanss retired the first two batters in the top half of the seventh before giving up a base hit to Gemma Landry.  Yanss recovered and forced a ground out on the next batter to seal the win for the Nittany Lions.
