Abington Falls to Knights in Non-Conference Match

Glenside, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's tennis team dropped a non-conference match at Arcadia University by the score of 5-2 on Wednesday afternoon at Weiss Courts.

How It Happened
 
* At first doubles, Isabella DePorre and Laurie Flemming trailed 2-1 in their doubles match against Savannah Falk and Karolina Iordache.  DePorre and Flemming won five of the next six points to win the match, 6-3.
 
* Arcadia took the team point at doubles after winning second doubles and winning third doubles by default.
 
* Flemming won her first singles match against the MAC Player of the Week, Savannah Falk.  She won in straight sets by the score of 6-3 and 6-2.
 
* Morgan Schaefer won her first collegiate match over Jaylen DaSilva.  Schaefer won the first set, 6-4, and was ahead 3-0 in the second before DaSilva retired the match.
 
* Arcadia won the match with singles victories at second, third and fifth flights.  The Knights took sixth singles by default.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the eighth meeting between Abington and Arcadia since the start of the 2011-12 season.  The Nittany Lions are now 2-6 versus the Knights in the all-time series.
 
Next Up
Abington returns to action on Saturday, March 29 as the Nittany Lions host Cedar Crest College in a United East Conference contest.  Match time is set for 1 p.m. at the Abington Tennis Courts on campus.
