How It Happened

* Abington cruised to the team point in doubles play winning all three competitions.  At first doubles, Laurie Flemming and Isabella DePorre defeated Mia Aharonoff and Hester Xie by the score of 6-2.  The second doubles combo of Soniyah Youngblood and Morgan Schaefer shutout the Berks' team of Eliana Koehler and Lannie Beck, 6-0.  Abington won third doubles by forfeit.

* In singles play, Flemming, DePorre and Youngblood all won their respective matches by straight sets shutouts.  Flemming defeated Aharonoff at first singles to improve to 9-2 overall this season.  DePorre picked up the win at second singles of Koehler, while Youngblood defeated Beck at third singles.

* At fifth singles, Maman Saly Mbengue improved to 4-1 in conference play with a marathon three-set victory over Amulya Kondru.  Maman won the first set by the score of 7-5, but Kondru responded with a 6-3 win in the second set to force a third set tie-break.  In the tie-break, neither player held a lead larger than two as Mbengue outlasted Kondru, 13-11, to seal the victory.

* Abington also received a team point from sixth singles by forfeit.

* For Berks, Xie won the team's lone match with a three-set victory at fourth singles.
