How It Happened

* The Abington offense gave sophomore Nate DeCristofaro all the support he would need in the first inning as he picked up his second victory of the season.  The Nittany Lions pushed across four runs in the opening frame with seniors Gaetan Grandelli and Josh McGee, along with sophomore Donato Incollingo all driving in runs.

* Abington added single runs in the third and fourth innings to increase its lead to 6-0.  In the third, sophomore Zach DiMario forced in a walk with a bases loaded walk and in the fourth Incollingo drove home senior Jake Fallers with a double down the left field line.  Fallers reached base with a double of his own right before Incollingo's two-bagger.

* The Nittany Lions responded with eighth runs in the bottom of the fifth after the Eagles spoiled their shutout bid with two runs in the top of the inning.  Fallers drew a bases loaded walk to force in the inning's first run and was followed by Incollingo getting plunked by a pitch to advance another run home.  After a quick pitching change, McGee drove in two runs with a single through the left side to make the score 10-2.  Later in the inning a costly fielding error by the Eagles with two outs scored another two runs.  Z. DiMario and junior Corey DiMario followed with back-to-back run scoring hits to cap the scoring in the inning as Abington led 14-2.

* Freshman Eric David and senior Jamie Burkhart pitched scoreless sixth and seventh innings respectively to close out the game.  David and Burkhart each struck out a pair of batters.
