How It Happened

* The Abington offense wasted zero time lighting up the scoreboard as the Nittany Lions pushed across four runs in the opening inning.  Junior Nathan Schurga and freshman John Busco each drew walks to start the inning and junior Akira Nakamura came through with a run scoring single to score Schurga.  Two batters later, junior Donato Incollingo doubled to left to score Busco to make the score 2-0.  Freshman Jaxon Horvath then stepped in and singled to center to drive in a pair to double the Nittany Lions' lead at 4-0.

* Abington added a run in the second to make the score 5-0 and after a scoreless third, blew the game wide open with an eight-run fourth inning. The Nittany Lions took advantage of four walks and a hit batsmen in the inning to go along with five hits to fuel their offensive surge.  Nakamura, Incollingo and Horvath each drove in two runs in the inning.

* Leading 13-1, Abington tacked on two more runs in the fifth to increase its lead to 15-1. Horvath drove in his fifth run of the game with a base hit before sophomore John Marcucci forced in a run after getting plunked by a pitch for the second time in the game.

* Neumann scored a pair of runs in the seventh before the game was called due to the 10-run mercy rule.
